4 years of entrepreneurial adventure
In June 2021, we launched Nordlys a clear goal in mind: to restore meaning to furniture. To create sustainable furniture, designed to last and to live with, not just to fill space.
Four years on, we're proud to look back and measure how far we've come - an adventure that's human, collective and always guided by your uses, your interiors and your lives.

Our story has its roots in a family passion. Anne-Sophie, co-founder of Nordlys, comes from a long line of cabinetmakers and antique dealers.
She grew up surrounded by wood, carefully crafted objects, and the idea that every piece of furniture deserves to have a story. By teaming up with two interior design enthusiasts, she created Nordlys, which rejects standardized and overproduced furniture.
At Nordlys, each piece of furniture is designed as a living space . It has a purpose, a story, a connection.

4 years of responsible furniture
Since our inception, we've achieved a number of decisive milestones.
After the creation of Nordlys June 2021, we launched our e-commerce site a few months later. The first sales in November marked a turning point: our furniture left our workshops to find its way into your homes, and a loyal community began to form.
In 2022, we join the Maisons du Monde marketplace. In 2023, we launch our first outdoor range - a collection designed to transform gardens, balconies and terraces into real living spaces. And in the same year, we collaborate with La Redoute!
In 2024, a new milestone was reached with the launch of our children's range.
And in 2025, we're going even further: setting up in the United States and a move to our new offices in Marseille.
Nordlys now has a presence in 15 countries on 3 continents, and a website translated into 5 languages.

What inspires us every day: you
Our furniture isn't born in isolated offices. They come to life where you live: in your living rooms, your entryways, your bedrooms, your everyday moments.
Because your reality is our starting point. Like us, many of you are juggling with limited space, accumulating objects and children on the move.
Our collection of multi-purpose furniture was born out of this everyday clutter. We were looking for solutions that were beautiful, durable and practical, and it was this experience that guided our creations.
The UPPSALA bench in Anne-Sophie's hallway, for example, is used to store the children's bags on their way home from school... But it's also her son's favorite hiding place when he's playing with his sister.
This kind of detail is not insignificant. It says it all about our approach: we want our furniture to live, and adapt to your lives - not the other way around.
We design our products based on a simple principle: observe, test, share with you, then launch what really makes sense. Your feedback, your habits, your space constraints are at the heart of our thinking.
Every piece of furniture has its own story
Our furniture is rooted in life, but also in memories.

Many other products - CORDOBA, HAVANA, BALI - are named after cities that have left their mark on us. These pieces tell the story of our travels, our inspirations, our attachments.
At Nordlys, nothing is left to chance. Every design meets a need, every name evokes an emotion, and every material is chosen with care.
Scandinavian and natural design, our stylistic roots
Scandinavian style is both minimalist and warm. It favors bright spaces, thoughtful storage and formal simplicity, while incorporating natural materials and soft textures.
Clean lines, light woods and cocooning textiles create a serene, welcoming atmosphere. C'is what we call Hygge an art of living that seeks happiness in simple things.
As for natural decoration, it emphasizes the link with organic elements.
Solid wood, rattan, natural fibers and raw fabrics play a key role in our collections. These materials bring authentic warmth and create a link between indoors and outdoors..
Our color choices are also in line with this logic: soft, sober tones inspired by the Nordic earth and sky, which soothe and structure the space.
Our inspirations reflect these influences, adapting them to contemporary uses. Nordlys mission Nordlys the same for the past four years : to create beautiful, sustainable, functional designs. And always, to enhance your lives.

Our modular, upgradeable products: growing with you, adapting to your life
At Nordlys, we know that life is not static. Your spaces evolve, your needs change, your family grows, and so does the way you live. That's why we design modular and adaptable furniture that can adapt over time.
Our adjustable shelves our transformable benches , our extendable tables have been designed to accompany your transitions: a move, an office that becomes a child's bedroom, a living room that doubles as a dining area, a guest room that doubles as a workshop.
This furniture, which can be moved, reinvented and kept for a long time, fully embodies our vision of sustainable furniture useful today, but ready for tomorrow.
It's no longer a question of furnishing more, but of furnishing better.
2-in-1 products: intelligent design, everyday use
Our 2-in-1 furniture collection was born of a simple reality: lack of space, but never lack of ideas.
We needed furniture that could perform multiple functions while remaining aesthetically pleasing and compact. Above all, it had to sacrifice neither comfort nor style.
This is how the Nordlys range of multifunctional furniture was born. The PIREUS, for example, combines storage, seating, and shelving—an ideal solution for a small living room or entryway.
The UPPSALA benchbench serves as a storage box, a comfortable seat and even a playground, as Anne-Sophie recalls: "It furnishes my entryway, keeps the children's bags tidy... and it's my son's best hiding place when he's playing hide-and-seek with his sister".
We believe that every piece of furniture can be more than just a piece of furniture. It can become a partner in everyday life, making life easier while enhancing the beauty of the space.

A carefully thought-out children's collection
The year 2024 marked a new milestone for Nordlys the launch of our children's range. We designed these pieces with the same attention to quality, safety, and durability as our other collections, but with a special focus on early learning, play, and comfort.
Shelves at child height, small ergonomic chairs, aesthetic toy rows: everything is designed to stimulate independence, without sacrificing design.
This collection accompanies the little ones and blends harmoniously into your interior - no more aesthetic gaps between the children's corner and the rest of the house.
An outdoor range inspired by travel and nature
During the health crisis, many of us rediscovered the importance of our exteriors. Terraces, balconies and gardens have become true extensions of the home. To meet this need, we launched a collection of outdoor furniture designed as an invitation to travel.
We drew inspiration from our memories and travel logs: Hanoi, Salvador, Bangkok, Recife... Each piece of furniture pays homage to a destination, an atmosphere, a light. The Alicante table is an elegant way to share meals al fresco. The Recife armchair, in braided rope, invites you to relax in the sun. All are designed with resistant materials such as acacia or treated rattan, to last over time, and accompany you season after season.
This range embodies our vision of sustainable outdoor furniture: beautiful, solid, inspired, transforming every open-air space into a living space.
4 years of commitments
A responsible production model
From the outset, we opted for a slower, but more respectful, pre-order model. This choice implies producing only what is necessary, avoiding unsaleables and limiting our carbon footprint.
Of course, this sometimes means waiting a little longer to receive your furniture. But it allows us to avoid waste, remain agile, and offer you furniture that reflects your values.
We work exclusively with sustainable materials: FSC wood, OEKO-TEX fabrics, solvent-free glues.
Every stage of production is closely monitored. We only work with certified workshops that share our social and environmental commitments. And each piece undergoes strict quality control, from prototype to shipment.
Giving a second life to our furniture
At Nordlys, we firmly believe in the circular economy. When a piece of furniture comes back with a minor defect or an unsold item remains in stock, we choose to donate it. Thanks to our partnership with Emmaüs, these pieces of furniture are repaired, refurbished, and find a new home.
